A Hidden Paradise Worth Every Moment. -From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with warm hospitality and a genuine passion for sustainability and nature conservation. This secluded paradise offered one of the most authentic and peaceful islands experiences I've ever had. The eco-friendly A-hut and geodesic dome were thoughtfully designed- simple, clean and perfectly in harmony with nature. Every meal was a delight - a truly Filipino cuisine which we like most. I and other guests enjoyed island hopping, swimming and sunset viewing. The staff arranged everything smoothly and ensured I and other guests had safe and memorable moment connected with nature. The staff were incredibly friendly, jolly, attentive, and respectful. (They are best in karaoke singing, too). You could tell they cared deeply about the guests and the environment.----I left feeling relaxed, inspired and grateful for such a unique experience. -----I would recommend this resort to anyone who values nature, authenticity, and sustainability. Can't wait to return.

We stayed at this so-called “resort,” which was advertised as one of the best in Balabac well-maintained and offering a premium experience. Unfortunately, the reality was far from what was promised. It was one of the most expensive accommodations we booked, yet also one of the most disappointing. This place is anything but a resort. The facilities were poorly maintained, tents and mosquito nets damaged, dirty sheets, and even a fan in bad condition. The overall condition of the camp was quite neglected. The only aspect that could somewhat justify the high price was the use of speed boats, which they emphasized every single day. We had clearly shared our dietary restrictions in advance, but had to repeat them at every meal, which became frustrating. Cutlery and glasses were left outside, attracting animals that would climb on the tables. There were absolutely no evening activities to help pass the time. After returning from the day’s excursions, we were basically left to ourselves with nothing to do. The only real highlight of this resort is Secret Island, which they are the only ones to offer and it is truly worth seeing. Balabac is an incredible destination that I highly recommend, but unfortunately, I cannot recommend this resort to anyone wanting to enjoy the experience to the fullest. That said, a special thanks to Alaska, who accompanied us throughout the trip and did their best to make up for everything that went wrong.

Booking with Balabac Eco Resort was the best decision for this trip. It’s slightly more expensive compared to others, but definitely worth it considering all the inclusions in the package. The speedboat rides definitely made it more efficient and gave us more time to enjoy the islets. The food served was great with a good variety. Just a couple of friendly suggestions for the resort to consider: •Encourage guests to bring their own water tumblers and provide refill during island hopping to help reduce plastic waste. •Set a curfew for karaoke, while most guests love to sing all night, others might prefer a quiet evening to rest. • Implement no smoking while riding the speedboat and designate a smoking area in the resort for everyone’s comfort. I had great time in Balabac with my daughter! Plus, we were also lucky to be with a fun and easygoing group. The place is raw and beautiful. A refreshing break from the usual. Overall, a truly special and memorable trip!

STAY AWAY!! Thieves, Bedbugs, Terrible Food and very bad management of the resort - this "resort" is a DISASTER! First of all - we got robbed the first day there, a total of $300 was taken from my wallet (that was well hidden in my purse) my sister's wallet and the other lady staying there as well. For some reason they didn't take the money from the guys wallets, not sure why, but when we confronted the manager she acted like this has never happened before, but reading the reviews afterwards, theft has happened there before. They didn't give us a key to lock the room, they said they didn't have a key yet there was a lock and keyhole on the door handle. No one else is at the resort but the employees, so someone or maybe all of them are the ones stealing the money. Not sure if the stealing is the worst part or the bedbugs - I got attacked the so badly, plus the others staying in the room with me. The only person who didn't get attacked was the person sleeping on the blow-up mattress. Was just gross with these bites. The food was so mediocre and bad. They used the cheapest meats and not much of it, repeated the same veggies each day but cooked them in a different sauce each time, they barely had enough food for all 7 of us and when we asked for some more rice, they said they didn't have any left??? There was no ice for drinks, there is a non-working bar, but they will sell bottles of alcohol to you for a ridiculous price. No one came to clean the room ever, and I had to ask for a broom to sweep our room out myself. Management of the resort is non-existent, the manager really doesn't do anything. Also, there is no swimming allowed at the beach, they say because of Box Jellyfish, but there are no Box Jellyfish there, the beach is full of sewage, when you walk in the water getting off the boat, your feet sink into the sludge, it is gross. I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy, it is that bad. BUT - I do have to say, the boat crew was top notch, our guide Mike did everything to make our stay comfortable, so he was working really hard. The captain knew his was around the waters and his crew was very helpful. Having a speed boat take you island hopping is a game changer, so much quicker than a Banka and so much more fun - but not worth it, if you have to stay at that resort. Hopefully, as Balabac becomes more tourist friendly, there will be good resorts with speed boats taking you around. I would wait until then, instead of staying at this terrible resort.
