We stayed at the one next to this which was run by the same family.
It was therapeutic. Waking up right next to the beach surrounded by tall cliffs and giant trees. Hearing the waves and the crows makes you feel connected to nature. I love how simple things are, the place is not fully commercialized. The electricity and water are even manually supplied by the family through pumps and generators.
The people who run the place are very accommodating. I had the pleasure of speaking to one of them as he walked me through the history of this particular part of the island. They have a shared kitchen and you can always ask them for necessities like ice, rice, etc. and they will just put it on your tab.
Make sure to bring enough cash, there are no atm on the island but you can cash out through GCASH with the stores. Make sure to also pack up on specific items you might need as only basic supply are sold.
They also offer an air-conditioned unit and they know people who can offer boat services and island tour. This place is about 4 minute walk from masasa beach.
One of the best homestay sa Tingloy Island, napaka hospitable nina Tita Precy at Kuya Lauro sa mga guests, they'll arrange what you need (hatid via boat, or habal, or just brisk walk on the beach, beach activities, hike, island hopping) rates goes 500 per pax up, 700 for aircon rooms (with minimum pax), near the lagoon at mga tindahan. Will not have a problem with cookwares, at ref. Just bring your stuffs and let this Homestay handle the rest.
Pros:
Near masasa beach
Near lagoon
Free karaoke
Has piso wifi
Near stores
Well maintained
Beach front
Cons:
Wala, been there too many times.
I wish there's a lights out rule where the people cannot make loud noises after midnight. We hardly had sleep because of the noise (I think the neighboring kubo's too).
But I do not want to give fewer stars as the hosts were really nice and friendly. Just ask for whatever you need. They cooked rice for our lunch just because we forgot to pack from the mainland in the morning. They can get fresh coconuts for you too! They have clean bathrooms and spacous shared kitchen.
