This island is suitable for individuals or groups who:
Want a quieter beach stop in a less developed environment.
Enjoy snorkeling, pleasing underwater visuals and coral reef spotting.
Are okay with minimal infrastructure and bring their own supplies.
Are seeking a side-trip rather than a full luxury resort stay.
Practical tips
Bring water shoes or aqua socks because of rocks/coral on shore.
Bring sun protection (shade may be limited) and consider basic supplies (drinks/snacks) since amenities may be scarce.
If you plan snorkelling, bring your own gear or check if rental is available.
Confirm the boat/entry fee ahead of time; clarify what is included (entrance, boat, waiting time). From one guide: entrance fee ~ PHP 200.
Visit during calmer seas (morning is usually better) to maximise snorkelling and safety.

Cute island, nice corals around. Too bad the mayor of Tingloy sold this island to the highest bidder making it impossible to go onto without paying a high fee.
It was an "ok" experience for our group.
Pros:
• Sights: Pristine waters, different kinds of fish
• Peaceful/relaxing
• Clean, seems well maintained
• There is a cute mama dog who ushered us to the cottage.
Cons:
• Sand: Coarse, sharp due to corals.
REMINDER: You would need to have aqua shoes if you want to swim.
• Not much to do (well you can swim all you want but other than that, yeah...)
• No food offerings (at least you get to choose what food you can bring)
• Fees:
° entrance fee: 200 PHP per person
° cottage fee: 500 PHP just a rental
NOTE: These fees does not cover any food/drinks/activities
We did not get any info prior to going to the island (this is more for the resort POC) so, it feels like we were ripped off. However, we are already there so might as well enjoy and get the most out of the place. I hope that there there would be future programs for the island (without interfering with the natural structure) and that the resorts can communicate better to their customers and the boat men/Sombrero Island caretaker in the future.
NOTE: Always remember to practice Clean as you Go or CLAYGO!

a month agoOne of my favorite dive sites in all of the Philippines, the area is highly underrated. Beautiful coral and loads of fish.
