Going there from Manila is tedious, 3 &1/2 to 4 hours drive depending on traffic. I like the privacy of the resort. The cabanas are nice, giving the resort a classy and relaxing vibe. The service is good specially in their restaurant. The food is pricey for the amount of servings. Taste is ok but there are dishes they can improve on. Also the lofts can have a little makeover to make it updated, specifically repairs or change of door knobs. There are enough beach activities but the beach is rocky, however they kept it clean all the time. There are enough staff around to help out the guests
Horrible stay! We’ll never stay here again.
Our room doesn’t have hot water, shower not working properly and the toilet is dirty.
The aircon is too loud so we can only put the fan to the lowest. We were glad there’s a ceiling fan but same as the aircon, it made a loud noise too. It was also moving a lot, feels like it’s about to fall off the ceiling.
Our room is close to the common toilet and bath for day tour guests, and you can hear the flush. It’s disgusting.
They also didn’t give a warning that they have construction which starts too early and ends late at night. They should consider that the guests come to relax, not to be awaken by loud construction sound early in the morning.
They were fully booked when we stayed there and all of the cabanas were rented out by their day trip guests which is very unacceptable because all of the in-house guests doesn’t even have a nice place to stay at the beach. Everybody was asking if they can stay at Cabana but the staff just said it’s all reserved. They shouldn’t accept day trip anymore if the resort is already fully booked so they can provide cabanas for their in-house guests. In the end, it was very inconvenient for their in-house guests to stay at the beach.
When we ate at the restaurant, the glass where they put the utensils are with algae and dirty! We complained and they didn’t do anything. They didn’t even remove it from our table and the waitress was not even happy that we told her about the dirty glass.
Breakfast was also served COLD!
We left more tired than when we arrived. Very bad service for the price we paid for. We are never coming back to this resort again!
Booked overnight accomodation last Sept 6to7 for 7pax premier loft (Mulawin B).
Room is outdated. Renovation is highly recommended. The beds were not comfortable. I like that the toilet is separate from the bath. For the price paid for the room not worth it.
But the place! Still love it. I love swimming in the beach. Sand is fine with pebbles (but not as fine as Bora) water is clear. The addition of swimming pool is a plus .
Food is delicious kinda pricey but serving is for sharing. Included Breakfast could improve. Hope they would return the buffet setup.
Service is nice. Thanks to rose ann (and to others answering their FB messenger) very patient in answering my inquiries.
This place is very expensive for the service they offer. One star for relatively quiet night and less crowded beach. Other than that it is a rip off. We arrived at 5 PM the room was not ready. They advertise quiet night but you next to a construction site and they start working at 5 AM. The pool is small and some parts are falling apart. Water hot and dirty. I would not go here but it was the only available resort in the area. Beach not clean with dog poop. Breakfast very poor, had to remind them to bring drink. Not anymore.
La luz still has one of the best beachfronts in the area. The beach is vast and quite secure (almost no peddlers), which makes it ideal for large groups and company events. However, the resort has lost most of its old world charm. The room rates are above average and yet, the overall experience is below average. The staff are all quite nice and yet, the restaurant is severely undermanned for a weekend crowd. One hour wait for our PRE-ORDERED plated breakfast is just a bit too much. The published breakfast schedule was 6am to 9am but the coffee and meals were not availabe until around 7:30am. Our late lunch experience (also one hour wait) was even worse as the staff seems to have taken a break by the time we checked in at 1pm. The children started having tantrums from hunger and the elderly missed their scheduled medication because of the food delay. If the resort cannot improve the food service, then they should consider waiving the consumable charge of 600php per head so that we can at least have a decent meal somewhere else. I don’t think I’ll be coming back anytime soon. This used to be one of the best, but there are better options now.
