We reserved the loop room but they gave us wrong room but eventually they changed it but is too hassle after a long drive. service was good and food but hotel are fallen apart no water heater until our last stay not worth of price 12k ++ per night.
road going there was confusing and no pavements.
I booked a stay at the Garden Executive Deluxe and had a wonderful experience. The room was spacious, well-lit, and very clean. It was complete with essentials such as towels, soap, shampoo, and conditioner. It also had a refrigerator, kettle, cups, and complimentary drinking water. The hot and cold shower worked well, the internet connection was reliable, and a tablet was provided for room service and communication with the reception, which was very convenient. Despite being near the parking area and generator, the room was soundproofed, and we didn’t hear any outside noise.
The food was good—slightly on the pricey side, but considering the location, it was reasonable.
The staff were outstanding. I would give them 5 stars for their courtesy, warm smiles, and consistently accommodating attitude. They made the entire stay pleasant and welcoming.
As for the amenities, there are three clean swimming pools, and although the speed boat was out of commission during our stay, we were able to rent a balsa, which worked out well. It’s best to reserve a slot at the reception.
The beachfront was relaxing and safe, especially for kids. The water within the swim line was shallow and easy to wade in, though during low tide it was only ankle-deep. A lifeguard was on duty at all times, complete with beach flags indicating whether it was safe to swim, which made us feel secure.
Overall, the experience was both great and relaxing. The cleanliness, service, and safety measures made our stay not only enjoyable but also comfortable and worry-free.
It was our first time staying in Cala Laiya. First of all, the road going there is not fully developed and Google Maps had us going around in circles! But we eventually found our way after we asked locals in the area.
The place was generally great. We arrived around 5PM and check in went smoothly, staff assisted us to our room. We booked a Garden Room and the one we got was room 1C, which was facing the paved walkway. It was okay, just had me a little conscious with security and privacy hehehe
The room was clean, I loved the spacious toilet & shower! Bed was comfy and AC was super cold. Remember to request for toiletries when checking in though. Their trash bins also need an upgrade
The beach was completely gone by the time we arrived. Gone as in it was low tide! The water has receded so you can only walk around the beach during that time. They also do not have a shore for some reason. You’ll see when you get there.
When the water cane back in the morning though, it was beautiful! Enough water to swim in and just relax. Water was clean, but since it was October and the rainy season leaves from nearby trees get winded down into the water. No biggie. Just annoying to keep removing leaves that keep sticking to me.
Not sure if it’s off peak season but I loved the quiet. No one was in the water but me which I prefer hahaha. There are 2 pools available if you prefer swimming in pools.
Food? The restaurant beside the pool area was okay. Price is what you’d expect in a resort. The Italian restaurant though was amazing! Still pricey, but quite worth it. Service is 100% in both restaurants.
Overall it was a good stay. Would have preferred a shoreline as well but perhaps they have a reason for that.
Extremely Disappointing Wedding Experience
I booked this resort for my wedding and chose their expensive all-in package, which included two villas for my family, full event styling, and five coordinators. For the price we paid, I expected a smooth, professional, and beautiful event, but the reality was incredibly frustrating and disappointing.
First, I paid for a fresh flower ceremony backdrop exactly like the one in the first photo I provided them soft, elegant, and romantic. But what they set up was completely different (photo 2) and clearly not the option I paid for. There was also no cake table styling at all, even though it was clearly listed in the quotation.
The coordinator service was also a letdown. Out of the five coordinators I paid for, only three showed up, and two of them told me it was their first time ever working a wedding. That is absolutely unacceptable for a paid professional team. I was in the villa getting my makeup done and only saw the setup when I walked to the ceremony, by then, it was too late to do anything. No one informed me of the changes or issues beforehand, and no one apologized.
As for the food we paid ₱3,000 per guest for a buffet, but they didn’t even provide tables and chairs. I had to rent those myself from another supplier. Then, during the reception, the food ran out so fast that some of my guests didn’t even get to eat. It was supposed to be buffet style, how can you run out of food that early? I make an ocular for food tasting and some of them i asked for little adjustment, example deserst was too sweet too much sugar i just ask for less sweet they wrote note on paper but they didnt adjust anything
The worst part came the next day. I tried to speak with the manager and the coordinator, but they ignored my calls. Only the cashier was present and she pressured me to pay the remaining balance in full, without addressing a single concern. They even told the guards not to allow any of my family’s cars to leave the premises unless I finished the payment. It was humiliating and deeply upsetting.
For the amount of money we paid, this resort failed to deliver the basic professionalism and service that any couple deserves on their wedding day. No accountability, no communication, no care. I genuinely feel scammed. I do not recommend this place to anyone considering it for a wedding.
the only thing i enjoy is the waiter and other staffs was very nice and helpful
I can see this place as trying their best, however, the biggest letdown is their food. It was very bland and uninspired. There were also a lot of flies during breakfast buffet. We also booked 2 units - a regular 3BR and a premiere 3BR, and I believed rooms were switched up - it was explained at the front desk that the key I was holding was the premiere (which I booked for my own family), and the regular is for my other family members, and upon seeing the rooms, it seemed the bigger unit/premiere was not the one given to me. Perhaps it was a mistake or confusion of the room names from the staff, but this should be confirmed before handing out keys to guests as it was a huge inconvenience to rearrange rooms among big groups/family members after we've all settled in. The free water activity kayaking was fun. Pool and beach use are only until 7pm. The road to get there was also narrow and a little bumpy (dirt road) especially if some passengers are prone to motion sickness; not the resort's fault, but thought I'd mention it.
