If the room hadn’t been priced at 180€, my expectations would have naturally been lower. The service and front desk were genuinely good, and I appreciated that. However, several areas didn’t match what was presented online. The food quality fell short — the eggs tasted powdered, the selection was very limited, and the overall presentation lacked creativity.
Given that we were in the middle of a typhoon, communication was also a concern. There was little to no guidance about safety or procedures, which left us unsure of what to do if the situation escalated.
The room itself could benefit from significant maintenance. The shower area showed visible mold, and the glass looked like it hadn’t been replaced in years. These issues create a large gap between the expectations set on social media and the actual experience. Increasing transparency and showing realistic, up-to-date conditions online would go a long way toward rebuilding trust.
I truly wish the owners success, and I hope they take this feedback as an opportunity to improve operations with integrity and align the experience more closely with what guests are led to expect.
Pros: amazing location and view! Hotel was the perfect location just outside of the main busy area of El Nido but still walking distance. The views from the hotel were stunning. And had a lovely pool and access to walk along the beach (note that you can’t swim at the beach).
Cons: so much construction. So noisy but the views from makes up for it. Beds were only kinda comfy but super hot sheets.
Newly renovated and rooms were clean.
Overall would recommend.
" Quality resort , right in the heart beat of the town "
Good evening my fellow brothers and sisters in Christ. How are we? on this fine , cheeky , tasty evening of the incredible paradise of Palawan.
Some people ask me from the places I review , " why are you doing this, when you receive no payment ? "
My response is simple " I do it out of the kindness of my heart and want to help people as much as possible in anyway I can. If my review can bring joy to another , or help a business become better , then awesome and who knows what unforseen opportunities can come from this "
I digress...
I'm also going to keep this fairly brief , as you only get a certain amount of words to describe a place , which is a shame , but it is what it is.
The hotel has 62 rooms , ranging from 7000 , to 12,500 pesos. I was shown the most expensive , which is the lux pool side room , right by the pool.
Breakfast is also included with which ever room you decide to stay in.
The hotel has a fantastic pool , with an awesome view of the beach. There is a pool room and also a spa that is currently being renovated.
They have a decent sized gym and a restaurant. They also do walk ins for the buffet breakfast , at 600 pesos. I can't speak on the food they offer , as stupidly I forget to ask to see a menu.
Quick note tho before booking , I highly recommend to wait a few weeks due to the renovation works that is currently there. For some people this may not be an issue , but personally , if you want the best experience with the resort , I highly recommend to hold out for a few weeks.
So, if your looking for a quality resort in the heart of town , with quality facilities including a swimming pool , spa and gym , with awesome views of the beach , then this is the one for you.
Also, shout out to ray , for being kind in showing me around and being able to provide some decent footage of the quality this resort has to offer.
God bless ✝️ ♥️
View from our room was a shame. The resort is ‘trying to be’ a decent hotel. We booked a van to go to puerta princesa, they were 1.5h late. Asked us to leave our room for no reason as we had to wait 1.5-2h in the lobby?! No proper communication at all. Not professional. Room is humid. Internet is not properly working. Breakfast is really not good, we decided to get breakfast outside and not cosy at all. Seem they also are working everywhere in the hotel so I recommend NOT to pay such an expensive amount for 0 hospitality and quality.
No words can describe how amazing our stay at Garden Resort was! My family and I had such a great experience from the moment we arrived until the day we checked out. Huge thanks to Patrick from housekeeping and Jear from the front desk for going above and beyond — you both made our stay extra special! We definitely coming back!
