Budget hotel we first found on Airbnb but the price was double on Airbnb than just booking it directly at the property. The Wi-Fi did not work in our room. The Wi-Fi that did work was not good at all, and we kept losing signal. And that was only if we sat outside closer to the office. The best part about this property were the series of pools that are open 24 hours a day. However, the room had no windows that I can remember, no running water in the sink, and no hot water in the shower. The bed was comfortable, and the linen was fresh and clean. The people working here were nice. There’s a little 24 hour convenience store right outside this hotel, which was good for ice, water and basic supplies.
Please Note: Do not book the boat tour! While the price may seem affordable, what you get is an absolute rip off. We were basically given a canoe with control arms operated by two guys who didn’t own the boat with no lifejackets and no cover. They did not want to bring us to the five fingers Cove and lying to us, and telling that four of the five coves are restricted. Then they took us to a dirty beach that was completely littered with trash and debris yet charged us an additional five dollars per person (250 PHP) environmental fee to be brought to a dirty filthy beach. Then they try to get us to pay another $15 for a cabana. Not only was the beach dirty, but all the locals that we ran into were drunk at 10 o’clock in the morning.
We booked a 2 person room from Emerald for our day trip tour of Five Fingers and Laki beach. The room had a double bed that could fit 3 people and a really clean toilet with a handheld shower head and pail and water dipper. The aircon was a bit weak but for a price of Php1,700 for the whole stay, it was okay since the owner let us check in and check out anytime. The place didn't have a restaurant/karenderya on its own but there's a restaurant(Margie's Place) and karenderya(Ate Sheila's) that's just a stone's throw away. We enjoyed our stay mingling with the locals, all of whom were very nice.
