2 months agoThis dive resort welcomes its guests like family with great warmth. For my first trip to the Philippines, this was a perfect first impression. I came specifically to spend a few days doing some scuba boat dives on the reef. Each dive was incredible, as this was the most colorful and vibrant reef I'd ever been to. There were countless fish, and the dive master was very knowledgeable and professional around expertise of the area and safety procedures. The staff made sure I was very comfortable, and the food each night was excellent (I got hooked on their famous pork ribs). My room was perfectly clean and recently remodeled, boasting impressive views of the ocean. The shuttle from the airport was incredibly convenient, and I was able to connect with my driver at Manila Airport very quickly. This is a great spot for anyone wishing to stay on Luzon and go diving very close to Manila. I'd recommend this spot for families, couples looking for a romantic getaway, and divers such as myself looking to enjoy the beauty of Earth's oceans. I can't wait to return, and am happy to have made many friendships in the Philippines. My favorite thing perhaps was that for our day trips on the boat out to dive sites, we'd bring a "pack lunch" of local Filipino food to satiate our hunger between dives. Also they take incredible underwater video of your dives, which I was very grateful for, as I was focusing more on my diving skill-building and not as much on camera work.

6 months agoIf you are looking for a perfect place to get away from the City, Porto Novo Anilao is I think one of the best place. The resort is new with very clean facilities. It is loaded with different water activities that you can enjoy during your stay. Went to this place twice already and it never failed to deliver the best customer service. The resort is owned by a local. The food is great and price is reasonable. They offer food service if you want to have lunch in one of the nearby island. Although the room that I booked (Captain's Suite) needs additional air conditioning unit, the rest of the rooms are well equipped with fresh linens and towels. (Hair Dryer available upon request). Kudos and Thanks to all the staff and the very accommodating Manager - JM. Will definitely come back soon.

9 months agoIt was a wonderful weekend spent at Porto Novo Anilao. Mabini Batangas is our go to beach getaway because of its rich marine life. We have been to a few resorts in Anilao and I must say that our stay at Porto Novo was memorable. My kids have enjoyed our stay a lot that they wanted to extend our overnight trip. The owners were accomodating, friendly and sincere. The resort’s design is a combination of modern and traditional. The rooms were spacious and well equipped but their lanai and small garden gives off that homey and relaxing vibes. The restaurant boasts appetizing dishes.I applaud the chef for curating very good menu which my kids love. They offer a variety of water activities that guests can choose from as they have affiliation from outside vendors but they do in house diving courses as it’s the core of Anilao. And to top it all the sea view from Porto Novo is nothing short of amazing, makes your worries go away. It’s what you hoped for. The sunrise and sunset is a must experience. As for the price, it’s budget friendly. Its not as expensive as other resorts, you get what you paid for and more. Its worth checking out Porto Novo and I definitely recommend it to others who wants to see Anilao.
