2 weeks agoWant to use the shower or WiFi? Avoid this place! Usually, I don’t write many reviews, but in this case, I have to. We stayed in this guesthouse for two days during our trip through the Philippines. There was no water in the shower for our entire stay, and the tap water worked for a maximum of one hour per day. If there is no water, you obviously cannot flush the toilet either. The WiFi did not work at all, which is completely unacceptable for a place calling itself a “coworking space.” The place is run by Filipino girls who seem to lack the technical understanding needed to maintain the building and its facilities. Upon arrival, we were told that hot water is powered by solar energy, and that we should keep the water running for at least five minutes before it gets warm. Not environmentally friendly, but if that’s their choice, so be it. It turns out that if there is no water in the rooftop tank, there is no water at all, hot or cold. The most frustrating part is that the owners do have running water downstairs in their kitchen. They are connected to the local water pipes, which work perfectly fine, just like in the rest of the neighborhood, but this supply is not connected to the guest rooms, and they simply don’t bother refilling the rooftop water tank for guests. We received only apologies, but no action. I asked several times per day, but all I got was, “Oh sorry, I think the tank is empty,” and “Sometimes I feel like there is a ghost in the water pipes.” Seriously? Also there was only one towel in the room for two people. The girl said „Oh sorry I’ll bring you one“ but that never happened and we had to get it ourselves. But hey, if you can’t shower, it doesn’t matter, right? From around 5 am every morning, smoke entered our room through the roughly 3 cm gap under the door, caused by neighbors burning trash nearby. This made sleeping in the noisy room extremely unpleasant. We have traveled extensively throughout the Philippines and all over Southeast Asia. Not once have we experienced such a complete lack of accountability or problem solving. We were not even offered a bucket of water to manually flush the toilet. To top it all off, there was no refund, despite this being a relatively expensive guesthouse.

6 months agoI worked at their work area and the internet was great! Even though there was heavy rain, which usually affects the network in Port barton, it worked great here. The food was also delicious and Maya gave me really thoughtful, pampering and courteous service. Highly recommend to anyone who needs to work and eat.
