a week agoThe Plaza Lodge Baguio Room Type: Deluxe Balcony Stay: Overnight Recommended Rating: ⭐⭐ (2 out of 5) This was a last-minute overnight stay in a Deluxe Balcony room after we decided to continue our trip from Dagupan to Baguio. The hotel is currently rated as a 3-star property, but based on our experience—especially at this price point—it felt closer to a 2-star stay or maybe lower. There are more affordable hotels in Baguio that offer cleaner rooms, better-maintained facilities, and warmer service. That said, the place does have potential. There’s a certain old-school Baguio lodge vibe that could be charming if maintained well. Unfortunately, that vibe is held back by aging interiors and cleanliness issues. Upon arrival, there was a dusty smell, and the carpet looked worn and tired. Inside the room, some wallpapers were torn, and the bathroom had visible molds and did not feel properly cleaned, which really affected comfort. For a room labeled “Deluxe,” the absence of bathrobes was also a bit surprising. We arrived around 8:00 PM and asked for a late checkout the next day. While checkout was extended to 12:30 PM, which is fair, the way the request was handled felt slightly awkward and uncomfortable, as if it was an unreasonable ask. Breakfast was included and was okay—not bad, but not something you’d remember either. Overall, The Plaza Lodge has potential and character, but until there are improvements in cleanliness, upkeep, and guest handling, the 3-star rating and pricing don’t quite align. With some attention, this could easily be a much better stay.

a week agoWe were disappointed that no one offered to help with our luggage after a long trip, and no staff guided us to our room. The key card didn’t work at first, so I had to go back to the lobby. The sheets had some light stains, and the carpet was honestly disgusting. On the positive side, the room is spacious. I really liked the hot shower and the plenty of towels provided. No hotel slippers though. The massage service was absolutely great!

a month agoOur 3-day stay was frustratingly mixed. The staff were genuinely excellent—we were very grateful for the complimentary early check-in for our infant, the available parking, and the polite service overall. The location is also fantastic, being walk-friendly and near Teacher's Camp and restaurants. However, the stay was critically undermined by two major issues: Health and Cleanliness Hazards: The facility maintenance was unacceptable. The indoor heated pool was noticeably moldy, rendering it unusable and posing a health concern. The dining area had flies and mosquitos around the food trays. Even the basic room items were unhygienic, including a moldy shower mat and stains on the provided linens. Hidden Pricing: Transparency was nonexistent. After filtering on Agoda for our party size, an unsolicited, mandatory extra person/bed charge was applied late in the booking process, drastically increasing the price (from ~₱4,000 to over ₱6,000 per night). Coupled with the fact that the non-AC status was poorly disclosed, this felt misleading. In summary, while the staff deserves five stars, the unsanitary facilities (especially the pool) and misleading booking charges mean we cannot recommend this hotel, especially for families.

3 months agoI have mixed feelings for this hotel. We booked on Agoda for 1 night for a deluxe room with breakfast. The staff were really nice, Rocky the receptionist was very friendly and helpful. The online booking room type was supposed to be assigned on arrival and they were kind enough to give us an AC room with a balcony. We had 2 queen sized beds which was nice. The room was clean just that the TV remote wasn't working, the phone was dusty and the balcony had a bit of grime. It wasn't a smart TV too so no Netflix. The breakfast spread is limited but food and coffee was good enough. Here's the thing though, i think they're one of 2 or 3 hotels in baguio with an indoor heated pool but the pool area was grody. The pool ladder is falling off, green slime all over the tiles and walls and the floor. We spent probably 15 minutes in the pool before feeling like we needed a really hot shower and a really good scrub. I wish they'd maintain their pool.

3 weeks agoThe rooms are okay. The service is poor. We booked for three people, but when my sister came to stay with us, we informed the hotel that we were adding one person. Of course, we paid for the extra person. We then asked for an extra towel and toiletries, but it took forever for them to provide them. We even followed up because we thought they might have forgotten, but still, we waited for another hour. The hallway smells terrible, like mold and something I couldn't explain. Regarding the location, it's not ideal. The traffic is terrible from the hotel up to the roundabout (Island Baguio Promenade), which is approximately 1.5 km of terrible traffic. A Grab taxi even refused to pick up my sister when she requested one while going to the hotel. As for the bedding, just look at the attached photos of the linen.
