Casa Maniego Resort

I would like to share my personal review and additional to my friend's review. We recently stayed at this resort, and while the place has a nice and cozy ambiance, there are several areas that definitely need improvement. The cabana looks charming, but the heater wasn’t working during our stay. The curtains were too thin, letting in a lot of sunlight early in the morning. No blind curtains at least, and there were no curtains at all on the second floor, which affected our rest and privacy. Upon check-in, there was no proper orientation. The staff simply took our payment and pointed out our cabana. We understand that we arrived late due to personal errands, but since the resort still allowed our late check-in, we expected to be treated with proper courtesy and assistance. Regarding the “fifth guest” mentioned in the management’s response to my friend’s review — our friend was still undecided about staying overnight and only wanted to spend time with us for a while before leaving the premises. He was never planning to spend the whole night in our cabana. That's why we asked about it right away. Giving the conditions, it was verbally explained that regardless of condition, this counts as additional guest. The rules or policy about the additional guest fee, or any should have been clearly stated in the resort’s booking information, not something we only learned upon arrival. Still, when the staff explained it, we respected their policy and followed right away, paying accordingly as advised. What bothered us most was how the staff member suddenly entered our cabana without asking permission first — only informing us after he was already inside. He started putting sheets on one bed while we were still unpacking, and after he left, we noticed that one of the two beds upstairs was left uncovered. It was unusual, since most accommodations prepare all the beds in a booked unit regardless of the number of guests. This left us flabbergasted. We also weren’t given clear instructions about other things, like where the drying area was or that the main kitchen was for rent and had a closing time. We asked for permission before using it and We only learned about those details after reading the management’s response online. During our stay, the staff simply pointed to the microwave without explaining any of the kitchen rules. Another concern was how the staff members kept staring at us while we were walking around, which made us feel uncomfortable — especially since most of us were female guests. To add, the lights were suddenly turned off while we were still having dinner, without any warning or apology. The next morning, the same staff member knocked loudly to ask us to move our car, again without any courtesy, and spoke in his preferred language even though one of our friends — whom he was addressing — is a foreigner. Overall, the cabana and location are nice, but the service, communication, and professionalism need significant improvement. We genuinely hope that future guests will not experience the same issues we did. We’re sharing this not as criticism, but as constructive feedback to help the management provide a better and more comfortable stay for everyone.

If you want comfort, I highly recommend Casa Maniego. The place is upgraded and tidy. CR is nice and clean (this is a must when i book places). The pool is perfect for when you just need to cool off after a long day of activities. The caretaker (Kuya Arnel - sorry if I didn’t get his name right) was always helpful and accommodating. We requested so many things from him and the rest of the staff and as long as it was reasonable and they’re able to do it, they acquiesced. You can easily prepare your meals as their kitchen is fully equipped. You just needed to clean up after yourself which I think is very reasonable. We booked the place to meet family from Zambales and Casa Maniego allowed us to have a great time together. Thank you! Camille and fam

We had a Bachelor's party here. Staff were great and rooms were clean. They may have the most aesthetic resort in the area. Parking can be hard but kuya will guide you.

I dont usually give reviews but this time I had to. It was our first time to stay in new liwa and we saw this wonderful place. By the time we got there we reserved the room earlier but when we entered the room the two beds on the second floor dont have bedsheets or comforters. The caretaker had to put it WHILE we were inside and there were two beds but i dont know why he just put bedsheets on one bed. We came kinda late because of our schedule so we ate dinner around 10pm, we had to reheat our food in their kitchen then suddenly WHILE using the kitchen, the caretaker suddenly came inside and told us that he's gonna lock the kitchen. So we just let him be because maybe thats their rule but kinda off because he told us that while using the kitchen. And suddenly one guest went to the other caretakers or maybe the owners and told them that their gonna get something in the kitchen so they opened the kitchen again and told the "other" guest that they're just gonna let the kitchen open. Another thing is their heater is not working. Also take note if youre not a morning person its not recommended to stay here because their curtains are sheer and you will be awaken by the sunlight. Anyway I did this review for the resort to improve something with their service, not to discourage the people to stay here.

Casa Maniego is an excellent place to relax and unwind. It’s 100% clean, well-maintained, and you’re free to cook and enjoy quality time with family or friends. The place feels very safe and private—like an exclusive resort, which makes the whole experience even better. Perfect for a peaceful escape without any worries.
